Familiarize yourselves with current events. Learn how words are used in sentences. This is the best way to expand your vocabulary. Transcripts of daily news are available. You do not have to spend the whole day to watch the news- just give it about 30 minutes- everyday. Make it habit.
You could also use the transcript to enhance your speaking. How? Read it aloud. Do it as if you're the news anchor. Look at the yourself in the mirror when you do this. Why? This enhances eye-contact- you are looking at yourself in the mirror :-) If you find the courage to look at yourself then you'll have the courage to look at others in the eye.
